Sweet October Saturday
As I rest from my labors
I notice that my neighbors
Are some of the quietest people I know
On this silent Saturday
I write poetry and say
That the way I choose to live my life is slow
Just like this
With the kiss
Of these October breezes
I am free
And will be
Of stress-induced diseases
Others can keep their fast lane and the strife
Of chasing what cannot be caught
Mine is a useful if a quiet life
Which can neither be sold nor bought
