Oligarchy of Inadequacy
An oligarchy of inadequacy
Is draining democracy from you and me
Did fear contribute to these darkened days?
Were voters really that afraid of gays?
Some thought it was God's will but maybe not
Some thought they remembered but they forgot
If they ever learned what these scars we earned
Really mean so they demean what they see
As challenging what they think they believe
They wish we would just shut up or else leave
Yet that which is best for us for them worst
Is that we who disagree were here first
A family known as Humanity
Bound by family honor to disagree
With an oligarchy of inadequacy
We ride an impatient world spinning very fast
It has a very short attention span
Only human dignity and kindness will last
With dignity let us be as kind as we can
A great many questions and the questions are great
Changing times are challenging and the hour grows late

Really?
Wow! Thank you with all my heart for your kindness, my friend and fellow poet; I admire your work too, and always have. Sorry I don't have more time to reply more and better, but you really are writing well; you have always written well, but get better all the time, as I hope to do myself.
Respect and solidarity.
Love,
+Stevie

Steven, you are a word processor indeed. You thought (digested) these and wrote (spat) them out as no one else could. And no charge for the reading - too good to be true!

Thanks, Hey Hey and Misty.
Yes, this truly is my home too; recent disappointing experiences elsewhere have reminded me of this as only hurt feelings can.
I will just keep on writing, and posting what I write here first, where I first posted anything before our forum even existed. I was here before the beginning, and this is where I belong.
Thanks and love,
+Stevie
