Come Sweet Night

Salmon pink with cotton balls
Lightly scattered on the walls
Of the early autumn sky
As the day is drifting by
To allow the evening in
Soon the magic will begin

Come sweet night and sing to me
Silent songs of mystery
Show me stories in the stars
Radiant Venus ruddy Mars
As tonight the harvest moon
Rises as I fall to swoon

Bathe me in celestial light
Warm sweet early autumn night
That your silent sanctity
Sanctify my love and me
We are parted near and far
But together where you are
