Hope Becomes Hope
The longer I live the more I care
For others having become aware
How it feels to be ill and in pain
Or to lose it all once and again
For when trouble comes it means to stay
I would like to help scare it away
From good people suffering bad things
One benefit experience brings
Is that I can feel just how it feels
When trouble rocks you back on your heels
Just to be able to say "I care"
And to mean it because I was there
When younger to have known that hunger
That uncertainty that gnawing fear
That just maybe there is no hope here
The longer I live the more I know
That there is always hope even though
You cannot see it even then so
I would like to help someone to see
Hope because that becomes hope for me
