Im by no means an expert in this field and am not a student of literature, but in a recent conversation I overheard this topic arose and I found it to be quite fascinating. I've read up on it and will post my thoughts as soon as time allows. Anyone here have an opinion or views on the following

What are the shortcomings of the theory?
I've read Trotsky's Literature and Revolution, but would like to hear from those better versed in this topic than me.
