Up so late it was early so I went
To Starbucks to set a new precedent
And I was first a first for me at five
The girl and I surprised to be alive
In darkness as the only ones who were
She asked what I would have I said to her
"Surprise me" as she had already done
And as I had her too and it was fun
Some coffee so strong I needed a spoon
A big fluffy bagel under the moon
A few stars twinkled blue as they knew soon
The night would be over when we must all
Arise from summer dreams into the fall
Stars and girls and bagels and coffee-spoons
Fall's rising suns and summer's setting moons
