MEASURE UP

I found a picture,
Of you and her,
You were both smiling,
So young and in love.

Where do I place in your heart’s race?

I found a letter,
From you to her,
Sweet words,
In unpracticed hand,
So young and in love.

Where do I place in your heart’s race?

Is it to much to ask?
When I know how she hurt you?
Even though I was there every step of the way,
Remember I cheered you on.

How do I measure up?
Do I fall short?
Or am I the girl at the finish line?

Where do I place in your heart’s race?

I think it's marvelous. Never sell yourself short. You always come out ahead. Nicely written.
