Lover's Hell

The fires of lover’s hell are at my door,
Knocking on my soul,
They want me to step into the light,
To give up the fight,
To give to you who I am,
To sacrifice my life,
For their cruel delight.

They want me to leap off this edge,
Scatter myself across the rocks below,
In pretty spatters of red and white,
They want this chest cut open,
And this heart removed.

Take my soul and sew me back up.

Their flames tickle my feet,
Creep up my legs,
And engulf me.
I’ve lost the fight,
No more time to take flight,
Here I am, and here I shall stay.

Lover's Hell, tragic a place to be a times. I love this poem. I know we have all felt this way at one time or another. Lovely, beautiful, strong poem.

its such a sweet surrender when we break down our barriers and share ourselves completely..this was beautiful both in imagery and wording...i adore this.
