A REFELCTION OF MY HEART

I’ve heard you say, “Testimony is a reflection of my heart.”
Your beautiful children are their mother’s best part.
Solid and grounded, they’re the salt of the earth.
It’s hard to place value on what good kids are worth.

You’ve nourished each one, and raised them with pride.
They burn with the passion you created inside.
You’ve given them country, gospel, and some rhythm and blues.
And that down home rootsiness to fill up their shoes.

A pinch of that old time rock and roll,
And a dash of your incredible blue-eyed soul.
Each one’s unique, though they’re from the same cloth.
I want them around me like a flame needs the moth.

I let them surround me and fill all my pores.
I’m cleansed by their goodness when they heal all my sores.
It’s a pleasure to be in their midst, I must say.
I can’t tell you the joy that they bring to my day.

Thank you for sharing your family with me.
For giving them life, and setting them free.
They’ve sprouted great wings and taken to flight.
And lifted my spirit on countless dark nights.

When you look in the mirror, you should like what you see.
Your kids have grown up to be all they can be.
Your progeny soar like the birds to the air.
Filling our hearts with the love that you share.
