BLESSED CURSE
A blessing and a curse,
Being so new to this,
An outcast in my own skin,
Wishing I had taken the chances,
When they came around,
And become less of the girl I am.
Beyond the notion that it is mine to give,
And beyond the need for control,
I am offering this part of me, wholly.
Hey Hey

I accept. When should we get married?
Nice poem, as usual.

LOL, that's not exactly what I was talking about. But thank you for the offer! It's more then I'm getting around here!

So how is that accomplished exactly? Do you wear a parachute, or do you land in water?
Mandy Wood
May 05, 2005, 09:17 PM
Neither. Well I guess the second one. You find a cliff that is over/by water, and you dive or jump off of it. The particular one I dove off of was thirty feet above the water. It's like jumping off of a highdive, except if you miscalculate you could injure your head of legs. technically you are suppose to jump, that was you won't break your neck if you don't clear the underwater rocks (if they are there) but I didn't think I could make the distance if I just jumped, so I dove. I survived! Although I did have a headache, water can me very hard!

I sense there may have been permanent brain damage from the text above. Or maybe, the traumatic memory has caused slurred typing? LOL!

The ringing should stop any day now. How long did you say it's been since the last Cliff diving?

Delightful poem!
Delightful dialogue!
This is just the sort of poem and dialogue which so gladdens my heart to see hereabouts; I would us all be friends, and share and speak to one another of everything, be it water on the brain--by way of the ears--the Dallas Mavs, or whatsoever.
Happy happenstances and encouraging signs of life! I am cheered to see these bloomings of community; it's what I've always wanted for us here.
Cheers and love,
+Stevie

Thanks Stevie!
It's been about...oh wow, I think I was like 12 when I went cliff diving, so I'm 23, do the math. Come to think of it, this ringing is getting quite annoying...huh what, I can't hear you. LOL.

Out of curiosity, what did all ya all think this poem was about? Because I got the weridest call from a friend regarding it. He was like, "Did you have sex?!" Did anyone get that out of this? No rush on answers, just wondering.

I was guessing it was about the topic of virginity? Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Okay, I just wanted to make sure my friend wasn't being weird. But to wake me up to ask me, come on.
Hey Hey, still considering the offer...lol.
RM, On the nose, thought I disguised it better then that, guess not.
Thanks for commenting.
PS: Out of curiosity, what are your true identites, just a first name, if you are willing to share.

My name is Rodger, Mandy. The poem I have posted below was written for another fellow poet friend who was ridiculed for choosing to remain celibate until marriage. I counseled her to do what was in her heart. Reasoning that the right person would respect her wishes to wait, and would go the distance with her if their love was true and meant to be.
A GREATER LOVE
Raise your head and meet my eyes.
I greet your soul and I am wise.
I take you not in servitude.
But drink you in as soulful food.
I need you not to bow to me.
But, lift me for eternity.
Side by side with Queen in hand,
I cherish you and rule the land.
In sickness I will care for you.
A promise kept that's meant for two.
You have my word, I'm honor bound.
The noble Knight has earned his crown.
The sacred bond I share with you,
A perfect love to guide us through.
We walk through fire and feel no pain.
And, quench desire in cleansing rain.
The sacred gift you give to me.
Is fated to our destiny.
One true love to share this life.
A Princess bride to be my wife.
I pledge allegiance to this love.
And pray for guidance from above.
Make me worthy of this throne.
A greater love I've never known.

Mandy,
As per usual and excellent write. So honest and open. I love that about you. It seems to be so easy for you to discuss any and everything in your poetry. Keep it up sister dear.

Maybe this poetic honesty could be applied to real life situations? Like maybe some honesty at the end of a pointed boot? Forgive me if I've overstepped my bounds.
