Full Version: Darkened Skies~

misty_tears
I set with the sun's fire tonight,
faded with its sweet glory glow
to take on the night's dim dull agony.
Give me darkness,
so that I might float gray and guilty
like a cloud into its clutches-
-Reeking of rain-
Let me tap into the inner depths
of those midnight skies,
and be what you never could be.
Let me paint your life with dusk-
-Smelling of sin-
Let me invade your peaceful evenings
with my starless skies,
and countless alibis-
-Tainted with poisoned lullabies-
Let me in,
so that I might bruise your world
with my different shades of black and blue.

Fantastic!

Give me darkness, too.

Every word of this poem is the right word, each a precious pearl. Like all your works, this is a secret treasure, nocturnal pleasure, to savor and breathe in again and again.

Love,

+Stevie
