the sweetest of my addictions
i know i’m addicted to light and to sound,
and the gravitational forces that spin us around.
my lungs need to breathe and my face needs the sun.
my mouth needs to feed and my blood needs to run.
i trust my lord’s strength from the heavens above,
to nourish my soul and to give my heart love.
fire and water and necessary things
only add to the joy a fulfilling life brings.
disappointment and sorrow from the tears of a clown
make us thankful for good times when the bad bring us down.
all of these things make the circle of life
and bind us together like man clings to wife.
i’m hooked on the songs of the birds in the wild,
the wind at my back and the laugh of a child.
life lives and withers, it’s the nature of things.
but nature renews us when the wind lifts our wings.
the sweetest of my addictions
is a raven-haired lass with convictions.
when “those eyes” meet my glassy-eyed stare,
i’ll consider giving up air.
when her passionate greens turn my way,
i expect that my speech will betray.
unable to utter a sound,
gobsmacked as my seat hits the ground.
so, i’ve taken the time to record
my innermost thoughts on this board.
i want her to know how i feel
while i make this poetic appeal.
i wanted to thank her for the gift of her song.
and to say that to share this could never be wrong.
i hope she’ll continue to make our hearts heal.
and not miss a chance to keep “making it real”.
i want her to know that her work really matters,
reflecting the beautiful soul that it flatters.
i’m sending my blessings in multiple layers
and continue to lift her up in my prayers.

You mean Dana's "Rain"? Ah yes, that's food for my soul!

So you're a fan then?

Absolutely!
I just emailed the Manager of Shawn Phillips recommending he arrange a duet with Dana. She has used the services of Paul Buckmeister (bows respectfully) who has been involved with Shawn for many years.

Awesome! Dana did a duet of one of her songs called "Falling Into Love" with Daniel Bedingfield when she supported him on his last European tour. Members of Dan's board said it was awesome. Sadly, I have never heard that performance. There are rumors that bootleg copies of the live performance were taped. One can only hope? Any other Dana songs you are familiar with?
FALLING INTO LOVE
Words and Music by Dana Glover
Hold on my heart
Remember what you've been through
Be still my soul
and let yourself be renewed
You've been here before
So tell me what i must do
Don't lose your way
'Cause I'm following after you
And it feels like
Im falling into love I
Can't believe what i feel
Falling into love
I'm falling into love
Why do I smile when there's no one else around
These butterflies well they can't seem to settle down
Oh it feels like
I'm falling Into love I
Can't believe what I feel
Falling into love
Oh it feels like
I'm falling for the first time
I can't believe that its real life
I'm falling into love
Oh I'm falling in to love
If I am dreaming please let me never awake
la la la la
And it feels like
I'm falling into love I
Can't believe what i feel
I'm falling into love
Oh It feels like
I'm falling for the first time
I can't believe this love is real I..
I'm falling into love
I'm falling into love yea
Falling into love
Falling in falling in falling in
I'm falling into love

I like most of what I've heard. She has quite a diversity of styles. I like that.

Much more difficult to be pigeonholed if you are diverse, no?
