Always

Your face is burned into my heart
and your smile branded on my mind
How many times a day do we talk?
I'd know your voice in a room
full of noisy people
How many times does your smile
brighten your face?
I see it a hundred times a night
flashing in my dreams
How many times do your eyes
twinkle with inner fire?
I will feel them burn brightly
a thousand times a day
Until my eyes are closed forever

This is really beautiful, Michelle; it comes straight from your heart, and goes straight to the heart of the reader. Unless, of course, the reader's heart has closed itself off to love, but that would be a tragedy. Although we are hurt in love, we are also healed in love, and I am so happy that you and I both are, in our own lives and in our own ways, still open, still loving, still alive. For those whose hearts are closed to love are dead, whether they know it or not.

Love makes your poetry bloom, Michelle; you are glowing.

God bless and keep you, and may you truly find happiness in love. You deserve it!

Your admiring and respectful friend and fellow poet, fellow adventurer of the heart,

Thank you Stevie,
I know that both of us will find the love and happiness we both deserve. It's a hard road, as you know as well as I, but it is so worth the travel. I agree with you--those without love in their hearts or those without the ability to love, even after being hurt by it time and time again--are walking corpses. They just don't know to lie still.
God bless you
Michelle
