Speeding down Rawson Avenue
Tears flooding my eyes
Our song blaring on the radio
Feelings of hopelessness
Overwhelm

Felt my hand jerk the wheel
Car began to travel off road
Started to tumble and roll
It all seemed to happen
Quickly

Body lay in crumbled mess
Could barely see through the blood
Legs felt tattered and broken
Ribs were irreparably
Shattered

Begged for sweet death
God must have decided
It wasn't my time to leave
And be with him among
Angels

How could I remain here?
When all I am is numb
With no one to warm me
Everything in my life
Lost
Hey Hey

Fantastic poem! Powerful stuff, Nikki.

My fave line is the last line:

Lost

...just there, all by itself, that one almighty word. Mind-blowing!

You're really writing with power, Nikki; you've found your voice!

Love,

I appreciate the kudos. I have been in this weird mindstate lately. In all different moods of writing and self.
