Transcendental Sonnet #1351:
Waiting for My Rice to Cook
Waiting for my rice to cook
Trying to recover from
Flying blind and being dumb
Hoping that my latest book
Will in spite of everything
All my eccentricity
Prove a worthy offering
Since it is the heart of me
And all that I have left of
What I once mistook for love
In any case I am free
Never mind the backward look
Alone with this cup of tea
Waiting for my rice to cook

Yeah... this is the way I "journal," by writing sonnets. At least they aren't so gloomy now as they were there for awhile...
You're really writing well, my friend. I have to go and sleep a little now, but I really must come back and read all these wonderful things more closely and try to say something about them. One thing I can say already is that I think we really have some talented poets hereabouts; you, Michelle, Mandy, Nikki, Misty, Supani, and other kind and generous and talented poets are gracing these pages with beautiful things every day, and it truly blesses me.
Thank you so much for the wonderful work you do here as moderator; you're absolutely vital to this place, indispensable. I'm getting myself together, little by little; I'm so sorry it's taking so long, but I'm making steady progress.
I look forward to coming here every time, knowing there will be wonderful poetry to savor and appreciate. I am grateful for so much, from so many. Thank you, my friend, and my thanks to all who make this place what it is. We have come so far.
Love,
+Stevie
