I just found this site and is what i have been looking for. im a marketing majior, that loves poetry, and topics having to do with inovation. i think  WE should market all he great ideas in peoples minds. You have the power to let people like us be heard, even though i want to kill my TV i think having  commercials based on peoples poems. this would be an amazing way to motivate people to use mind-brain and also give people a voice.  the world needs our help, so by using the devices that hold our commercialized minds closed we can open our eyes as well as the majority.  thank you , and if i i might have sparked some interest get back asap

it's a very interesting idea to use specially-designed commercials to promote Mind-Brain.com.   However, this site doesn't generate any significant money, and so I'd be hard-pressed to come up with the money for commercials.

But let's take the hypothetical situation that this site solves the money problem, then the following question comes to mind:   Sure, Mind-Brain.com gives people a voice to be heard, but so do many other sites, so what service or product does Mind-Brain.com offer that's rather unique and that would compel people to visit?   I don't have a good answer for that, at the moment.  But I'm curious to hear your response.

I would definitely wear a shirt like that, but it would have to be black; I'm one of those goth boys who only wears black.  I know, I know, my hair used to be died black for a long time--blue-black, actually--but I'm back to being a blonde.  Something a goth girl's mom said got to me.  She said, "Not everyone can be a blonde."  So, surf's up!

I love the T-shirt Idea! Speaking of T-shirts since I am a socioligy minor a I was floored when I saw a  movie we watched on tv in class and this woman was wearing a T-shirt that said on the front I am proud to promote Schizophrenia as I am one and on the back it says shut up your just jeolous the voices won't talk to you! No lie our whole class got a great  laugh! I am not sure if that would promote much for the site here though just wanted to share a laugh with ya all

a poetry slamm is kind of like a freestyle. you just slamm your brain and spit lines of the top of your head. its ushally done in a live setting where other slamm poets are  around to pick up where you leave off so in the end it was like one gigantic poem slamm in your face this is how i feel, this is what is surfing through my skull slamm poetry blowin through the door with emotion wisping in circular stanzas slamm heat up your blood an watch it boil slamm get that off your chest slamm tell me your name slamm you make me feel like that how do you do it slamm  :D

things are running smoothly here, and I'm glad we're up to 32 members and growing.  The t-shirt idea is a good one, something for me to look into.  Chrissy, that's schizo t-shirt must've been hilarious.  I wish I saw it.

I hope everyone is satisfied with things so far, and that if you're not, then you'll msg me or post here.  So far we have suggestions for 1) t-shirts, 2) chat room, 3) poetry contests, and 4) poetry slams.   I think it would be interesting to try a poetry slam, as jypsi described it, and if anyone is interested in being a slam poet or in participating in this sort of thing, to post something at the Poetry Board, and in fact, it's probably a good idea to start new threads at the poetry board devoted to slam poetry.

Again, I wish to reiterate, that if anyone wants to moderate one of these boards, or suggest a new board, then please msg me or post here with the request.  I recently added Tabitha, my wife, as moderator for three of the boards here, and wouldn't mind adding other ppl as moderators if they request it.

Ok, that's all for now.  I have some plans of expanding the content on this site, to include more info over psychology and philosophy.  If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know.

the reason i ask is because i feel alot. i go  through life by what i feel, sometimes i get what other people are feeling confused with what im feeling compleatly mixed up. sometimes eventhough i know its not me, the feeling is so strong i cant help but think its me. cause thats how i feel. but sometimes i can controll it and block thiers out, but then i also block mine out,  this can last from 1 min, - 24hrs when i see your picture  i just though you might see more than the average. i done see auras either but my mother and sister do.

ok, now you have me even more curious!  Why would you think I might see more than usual or auras based on my pics??  If I see anything more than the average, it would principally be in terms of seeing more potentials and possibilities than many ppl.  But that's very different from seeing auras, which no-one has ever asked me about before.  What do you believe about auras?

i believe auras are an advanced way of communicating in the most honest form. energy transfer dosent lie, well i cant fake it in the stage im at now but im sure some people can. the reason your picture sparked a feeling is anyones guess, but maby you have the potential? what do you  believe?

honestly, Jypsi, I've never had any experience with auras and haven't seen any compelling evidence for them, though I retain an open mind nonetheless.

About potentials, I think it's a way of perceiving reality, as simply a single instantiation of endless possibilities.  'What is' (aka Reality) is only important to me insofar as it's the starting point on the path to 'what should be', which must be understood within the infinitely large context of 'what can be'.  'What is' is submerged in an endless sea of 'what can be', but it's dependent on our ethical judgement and moral obligation to instantiate 'what should be'.

Also, I strongly believe that potentials have their own existence and reality, separate from the 'reality' we normally experience, and in a way, hidden.

I am immensely proud of everyone here for doing there part t make this site grow and unfold as it has! I am very satisfied with the enviroment here the people here all are so wonderful open and nonjudmental! so much talent has been displayed here through poetry and many wonderful ideas have unfolded and givin us all things to think about! such as aoras! What a unique and interesting topic sometimes in my poetry I talk of having an aura around me but I think for me it is a spiritual thing! I dn't know but I enjoyed reading the conversation on the topic! I am glad your wife is helping you out here and please exptend my welcome to here! I think the poetry contests and chat eooms are both great ideas! Steve good work on getting more member from the other site here! This is home and where they trully belong! in a place free of judgement and scorn! I love the T-shirt brainstorming ideas! Might be a possibility! Poetry slams was a unique topic I never really heard described that way! I am a free writer where I just grab a a piece of paper or journal and write my feeling and emotions! That is what I see poerty as! I think it would be a great idea! I courently have three jounal my poertry website and I am hoping to maybe publish one day!! I dream big I guess! I think expanding the pyschology site is a great idea I took alot of pysch course for college and i indednt to work on finishing my BSW in Social work with a minor in Socilogy in Sept! I have alot of insight on pysch issues and would love to add that insigt I have a whole notebook filled with pysch notes and a bout Developmental Pyschology so I thin thta is a grat idea and I hope i can help to expand the knowledge there! jypsi, you asked me if I write scripts: no, never have yet anyway.  They make movies constantly where I live, and I have a son who wants to be a filmmaker, and who already makes films with all his friends; he's a born director.  I was on CBS when I was seven and a half, but just a featured interview, not a scriptwriting credit.  My little town, my fervently beloved Plaza, is a film set right now actually, all tricked out for a Christmas movie, complete with fake snow; we don't have any of the real stuff.  They took the Christmas decorations down after Epiphany, and then the movie studio put theirs up a few weeks later for the filming.  I do however, write books of poems, choral motets, string quartets, that sort of thing.  And long, rambling replies to posts on this site.  I send you all my love, my delightfully mysterious friend.  Did you ever get to San Diego?  I hope you're alright out there.  I'm thinking of you, wherever you are.

i think they sound good. I want them exepecially the creativity board. but if you make it you might want to put a distription so people know what to put there since creativity is a quite large area of things.

Smoke and Mirrors: How Television News Sold the Persian Gulf War to the American Viewers. While there is a need to protect the lives of those serving in the Gulf, the American public should not be kept ignorant about dangers that affect them and those they love.

This topic can be two-pronged: How to promote peace in a world on the brink of war; and how television viewers can learn to look past the warm rapport of news anchors, through their perceptions and canned statements, to turn down the propaganda volume before clicking their remotes to get back to sports and sitcoms.

thanks Janice for your post.  So are you suggesting a "Propaganda Board" or something similar?  It sounds very interesting, though it would probably be best to start such topics as threads (under the Politics Board for example) to see how they fare and see whether they should be made as separate boards.

Also, I'd like to say something to everyone.  In fact, I should probably change the User Agreement that you see when you register here, but just in case I never get around to it, I want to state that you all don't need to walk on eggshells here, and particularly not around me.  Granted, I'm the Admin, but I'm not going to ban someone if they don't act nice to me, or to anyone else, unless there is a large group consensus that such should be the case.  I'm not saying common courtesy shouldn't be observed, but I am saying that you shouldn't have to worry about acting courteously if it's not in your nature to do so or if you're just in a bad mood.  So please, speak your minds freely around here, even around the Admin.

As an administrator of this website, I would think you are used to meltdowns by disgruntled users. It comes with the territory.

Actually, I was thinking more along the lines of starting a "Peace Forum" where people could work for world peace instead of just blabbering about how nice it would be to have it. What, specifically, can each one of us do to work for greater cultural awareness, elimination of prejudices, reaching out to one another one person at a time. We could report back on the success or failure of our efforts or share our ideas with one another on specific things to do. For example, 29 naked women spelled out messages against war in the snow in New York City Friday night. That spread to Australia where thousands took off their clothes in a protest against the war to spell out messages for peace. I'm not saying this is the only way to go (or I would have suggested a Naked Peace Forum) but maybe we can offer a meal to a family on hard times, maybe we can learn to put aside our differences and become more sensitive to people from different cultures.
I decided never to tell gay jokes because they are not accepted in society with the full measures of protection we all enjoy. I will not put down anyone who is disadvantaged whatever their circumstances. With liberty and justice for ALL, not just those who are like us. In little ways, we can all make this world a kinder, gentler place. We may have to go to war anyway but we should do so only after all other measures have been exhausted. I think we have not exhausted all our possibilities to make this world a better place by our own individual efforts.

I think it is a wonderful idea Shawn. There are many diverse minds on this site. WHO KNOWS, maybe one, or a few, or all of us can come up with some grand solutions?? ANYTHING is possible, I do believe!
