Seasons
Believing in the golden hair of summer
Taken in by the crisp winter air
But finding the spring's a bummer
And autumn's going nowhere
Don't know what to do about frosty faces
Can't change the frown into a smile
Maybe I should change these places
And try something different for a while
Listening to a far away song
Straining to see rainbow's end
It's just that the world got it wrong
Writing but I don't know where to send
I've learned these lessons for ever
And taken the lies for the truth
Now it's time to pursue calmer weather
Time's short and there's no more youth

What would I do without you, my friend?
You haved saved my life so many ways so many days!
This poem, as all your poems, lifts my heart and gratifies my senses; you make real art which satisfies: you are a genuine poet.
You were educated in science, as I understand it, yet you are a fantastic poet; perhaps we don't all have to be English majors! I was educated in musical composition, myself, as you know.
Perhaps the exactitudes of science and of counterpoint prepare us for this vocation especially well, somehow and rather paradoxically.
I want to do a new book, Hey Hey, and call it
Fallen Star and Other Poems
I think it will be great fun. I will fuss with it until I have something really nice. Perhaps I'd better write a hundred or so more poems, and then I will have what I need for it.
I watched butterflies today! They are migrating right over my house! Those are the "Painted Ladies." But we also always have these white butterflies, our weisse Schmetterlinge; I actually observed them doing something which I am told must have been mating. It was beautiful. I didn't even know they mated; I thought they were like angels or nuns... exclusively ethereal... I am silly, I know... a child.
But the butterflies are so beautiful. I am so happy to be alive, and to share this fascinating world with you. I want everyone who comes to our forum to get to know how wonderful you are.
Love,
+Stevie

I love the flow of this one. It is not always easy(atleast not for me) to write like that. Great job Hey Hey. You are quite the poet indeed.

A profound message eloquently conveyed. You have such a gift. If I had a dollar for everyone of your poems I've read that I wish I'd wrote, I would be rich! You are a blessing here.

It's nice to be complimented by such talented poets. Thanks very much guys and gals. I really appreciate you taking time to read my poems. This is such a supportive board with so many nice people. There is more to poetry than poems. There are the poets, who are real people, with sensitivity and deep feelings. Thank goodness I found this board and that Steven was so welcoming and encouraging of my efforts.
