This Bitter Wind

Bitter wind takes flight in this October sky
beckoning its due dissolution.
Tears fall upon the beleaguered leaf
only to race along its augured course
and drop into this abyss of sorrow.

Lamentations report dismay
amidst evergreen brethren.
They are without understanding
as they have not yet begun
to color and falter at the frost.

Unwilling is this tree to bow in defeat
as it holds fast to it’s elected friend.
Bitter wind resigns not, but endures to victory
as it plucks from the fold its frail friend.

Survivors of this bitter wind grapple
with the leave’s untimely ascension.
Amazement succumbs them all
as life anew rises.

And, as they ponder this evergreen leaf in flight,
they find its captor not in contempt,
but simply conspiring to deliver their friend
from mortality at the foot of their Father.

Frailty does not sit at the table of grace.
Nor does color flee from the report of Fall.
These leaves we lament do not wither,
and fall away in the darkness of October’s sky.

To the contrary my friends,
their message is evident and unrelenting.
They gather at the foot of all who grieve
to strengthen our foundation of faith.
They are undying and everlasting.

Another beautiful write Kevin. I appreciate your help in this. I have been doing a lot better. There are just some days that hit you worse than others. I think of him always and know he is happy and smiling up there. That is a source of joy through all of this pain I feel.

Thank you for that Kevin. Nikki is a good person and a beautiful soul, she is so kind and caring and makes light even when things are rough. She helps so many deal and sometimes gets the short end of the stick, people like you and words like this are just what she needs.

I love you Nikki, and just remember, "It can't rain all the time, and your tears won't fall forever," It's a song from The Crow, I don't know who it's by though.

Thanks to you both. I have a lot or pent up anger and frustration right now. Not at anyone in particular, probably myself. I have to find happiness in all other things, not letting it be determined in a relationship with a man(since that is going nowhere anyway). I have to do some serious soul searching here.
