Shawn
It's been awhile since I, the admin in absentio, have posted, so let me provide a short update and elaborate more at a near future date.

I will be completing my Ph.D. degree at Hopkins this year, and will be moving to UC-Davis in about 5 weeks to work on the Human Brain Project as a postdoc for the prominent neuroanatomist Ted Jones. I have plans of giving this site a major overhaul at some point in the near future, including updating the forum. No doubt some visitors will not like the changes, but I suspect most will. I'm not being deliberately secretive about these upcoming changes, but prefer to let my actions speak for themselves. I do hope most of you will enjoy these changes and will provide feedback.

UC Davis is close to Reno; you ought to come out to Tahoe and we can toss back a few

I would like that. I didn't realize you were in Tahoe, though. I'm not much of a gambler (at least not in the usual sense of sitting in front of a slot machine), but it would be nice to drop by sometime.

I'm not exactly in Tahoe, it is a 3/4 hour drive from my apartment in Reno. I'm not particularly interested in giving my money away on slot machines either but I am considering some sports betting next fall as an analysis of the last NCAA football season showed a consistent trend of home underdogs covering the spread (for the period from week 3 to week 14, 63% covered which is huge). Aside from that, Tahoe is good for stuff like skiing, hiking, boating on the lake, etc...

Trip like I do
Well, you had better have at least two (each) for me, for I love a good lager.

What the heck, have a couple of Newcastle Brown Ales and a few shots of JD as well.

or

Ricard's Red, they are pretty good too.

just wanted to let you all know that I am now permanently residing in Davis, CA. Website updates are in the making and will be forthcoming.

It's good to see you are now resettled!

I bet it's a while before you climb Sutter Butte, just to the North of Davis.
It looks like you should get some inspring views from up there at this time of year.
