Transcendental Sonnet #1294:
Cold Coffee White Coffin

I opened my new refrigerator
Which poetry fans donated to me
It is refrigerated I agree

A red bell pepper I will eat later
And two bottles of water rolling free
Seem to be all except for the coffee
Which is up in the freezer because it
Was written on the can to put it there

In consideration of what I see
I take out the coffee and that does it
For my daily frigid inventory

The novelty has still not worn off yet
Whenever I turn my back I forget
My white coffin of cold ...as I grow old
