I Have Learned What Love Has Taught

If I have loved and I have lost
Still I would never count the cost
As having been too high
But that the butterfly
Was unattainable to me
Unalterable destiny

But oh how beautiful it was
My heart's hope and my last lost cause

In paradise my heart is known
And there I will not be alone
Somewhere somebody knows I did my best
And if I failed I also passed the test
Perhaps not in the way I sought
But I have learned what love has taught
