Inch by Inch Sparrow by Finch

I have seen the first calla lily come
And today I found the first nasturtium
As inch by inch
Sparrow by finch
Hummingbird by butterfly
Flash of sunshine in the sky
The signs of spring happen by

And I am so glad to see them arrive
They cannot get here fast enough for me
I have remained alive
Enduring what seems like eternity
But I will bloom and thrive
Conquered and occupied by bird and bee
