Courageous Joy
“I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.” Phillipians 4:13 Lost in the midst of this surging sea, my home but torn from me under the crushing waves of temptation. Slowly, she sinks into the abyss of all things in which I sought joy. I cling to life upon the fallen mast, the only remnant of the home I delighted that has not forsaken me. However, how quickly does water pull at her precious pores, beckoning reunion in the woeful depths? Alas, the last of home has fallen prey to the arms of these unruly tides to reunite with her longing helm. Yet, through Christ I find, I am not alone. Over countless waves I encountered the surge of death yet I have not fallen prey. Through this lesson alone, I have found Him. I have found faith. In Him I have steadied upon these waters ...saved. He, my mast anew, carries me onward. Living by faith, and awash in joy. Confidant in circumstance. Perhaps today I shall land upon the shores of Heaven. Which would be better? I could not wish for a better circumstance. Saved life... saved for eternity? The outcome for me in either life is no less than sweet, sweet, courageous joy... Found only through Christ.
