Transcendental Sonnet #1096:
1 November 2004

for Silke

On this eve of the election
I shiver under blankets quietly
At this crossroads of reflection
As I wonder what will become of me

Liberation or rejection
Of the only hope I see
Dawn of hope dusk of dejection
If the junta stays: defection?

This is the hour we face our reflection...
What kind of people are we?
What is a lie and what is true?
What kind of place is this to be?

Silke I wish I were with you
On this eve of the election

Dearest Steven,

you are the sweetest poet I have ever read.....so frailgile, so simply human, and so bloody sharp when necessity condones you to be only as such...simply irresistible is the word!
I once thought I hated trancendualism.....but I am quickly learning from your poetry, that only you should name it as such as it's all of you!

Very very cool manthing and poem!

Love Jasper

Steven. It's a tense time with only hours to go. The world turns. Some things change and some stay the same. If Kerry wins the military industrial complex will keep on grinding on, I'm sure. The junta runs deeper than the white house.

Your poem is great. I only hope your faith in hope sustains you through these trials to come. Keep your thermals at your side my friend. You may need them yet awhile
