![]() If~* If he asked me today I would answer him yes Without hesitations To his small request If he fell to his knees And whispered my name I would answer him back That I want him to stay He gave me a ring To have and to hold My prayers were answered With him I'll grow old |

This is so beautiful, honey... I want to grow old with you, too (wait... I'm already old... well, you know what I mean! I want to grow even OLDER with you, forever and always!). I was so happy to come upon this poem! I had fallen asleep with the cat on me, and woke up to find him coughing up a hairball--on ME--to my horror, so I was just chasing him around and out of the house... and then the inevitable clean-up... Plenty of excitement hereabouts, as you can see...
Hmmm... what I just wrote doesn't sound very romantic... Let me start over. Before the cat, er, awakened me rudely, I was dreaming of you sweetly, having fallen asleep praying for you, actually. What I really want in this world is not to be rich, or even good-looking (as if that were possible!), but for my Silkchen Mausi to be happy. I really love to make you smile. I hope you like my silly sonnets today... and I hope I can make you smile awhile, today and always, always, always. I love you, my dearest darling girl. Thanks so much for writing and for posting this beautiful poem. That sure is a good picture of us you posted here, too. I think my hair-do looks especially fetching in that shot... That moon looks like it might be a bit sharp on our bottoms though... We don't have a lot o' fat there, as you know... Have I ever told you how proud of you I am? You really are the best, you know! You know what Dr. Lance always says: AMOR VINCIT OMNIA! |

This is the reason I call myself "The Lucky Little Bastard," folks (and why I write so many sonnets): my transcendental butterfly, my Silke Shining in the Sky.
Lots of love from lots of Lances, honey, from Maria, Stevie, Teddy, and lil ol' me, The Lucky Little Bastard. Have I told you lately that I love you? *SKWN* |
