Transcendental Sonnet #672:
Morning Becomes Electric Today it seemed sure that my house had lost the light But electrical fears turned out to be wrong Now my computer is on and my lights are bright Once again due to some miracle some strong Faith and a lucky little bastard's will to start Where some would stop to pull a fast one on my part Electrical dramatics had brought early dark The verdict was the wires had burned in the wall I prepared myself for a primitive and stark Week without any appliances at all But I thought fast prayed fast and fixed it with one fuse Another close call but things turned out for me For a lucky little bastard can never lose Today to be or not to be will be to be *~ ( + ) ~* +Steven Curtis Lance Copyright MMIV Silke LLC |

I had a water leak a few weeks ago here in Texas. We received 5 inches one Saturday, 10 inches the next Saturday, 17 inches in a week, and 32 inches for April if I remember correctly. Needless to say, I didn't see the water spilling out of the valve and making its way into the creek that runs through my property until I had expelled over 100,000 gallons that I have to pay for. It cost over 300.00 to fix it and that was fine but then I received a water bill for over 400.00. I almost passed out. I had speculated that we used 30,000 gallons. So, when I saw that it was nearly four times that my head exploded. Now the rain and the leak are gone. They washed a good chunk of "greenbacks" out with the flood. Ouch! Now we know are property drains properly! Now we are also installing a tornado shelter soon. Mother nature doesn't seem to have a sense of humor out here. Ouch! That's gonna' leave a mark! Sure do miss that SoCal weather. Especially the sun and ocean breeze that permeates old Orange County. My grandparents still live there. Sunny and 70's still, huh? Who needs electricity with weather like that. You could sit under a palm tree and carve your poetry into the sand over at Newport, Laguna, Huntington, Del Mar, or San Onofre. Glad your electricity is fixed.
