Transcendental Sonnet #479:
Come What May

A pair of lost souls we wander around
Without shelter no walls roof nor flooring
Drifters and vagabonds with no mooring
Two sailboats becalmed and then run aground

Where are we going and whence have we come?
Were we born to be peregrines always
Here to be gypsies the length of our days
So near to madness yet so far from home?

The only consolation for me is
Finding you Silke out here in the dark
Embracing each other now we embark
We know not where having only this kiss

But this kiss is sufficient to the day
Embracing we embrace it come what may
