Transcendental Sonnet #358:
Roadkill God save us from such cruelties as these Harsh bourgeois cautionary tales of fate These maddened mothers with big SUVs Blind with rage because they are running late They have their cel phones and their husband slaves Somebody tell them speed kills Jesus saves Madame Suburban in such a hurry Why must you always be in a dither? Such an angry grimace makes me worry Faced with such intensity I wither I try to stay out of your way and to Avoid becoming roadkill at your feet To vigilantly mince across the street Alas I fear the death of me is you * ( + ) * +Steven Curtis Lance from Transcendental Sonnets, Copyright MMIV http://brainmeta.com/poemdirectory/stevelance/comment.php ...and thanks again! |

I must say I was hesitant to read this one due to the title, but I know you are as much an animal lover as i am...so I dared to read and hoped it was not about what I feared.
Be careful walking with them crazy drivers ( I maus admit I am a crazy driver, but never dangerous...just IMPATIENT and always in a hurry!) Love, Dara |

No animals were harmed in the making of this sonnet. |
