I find a strange comfort in being awake when most of the world is asleep. I mean, I would rather be sleeping myself, but being that I am not, it feels oddly nice. There is a silence that cannot be experienced during the day, a darkness and a feeling of oneness with nature. I often go outside and lok at the sky, and I feel very connected with the stars, the moon.
Maybe this sounds crazy, maybe i am crazy! But, I feel more comfortable, more belonging overnight, then I do during ther day. Any thoughts, Ideas, experiences similar or different?I am wondering if I am the only one who feels like this...

Love, Dara

hi Dara,

I'm a fellow night-owl too, preferring the peace and quiet of the night to the unceasing hubbub of the day.  The night affords a quiet time to deeply reflect, something that's difficult to do during the day when you're caught up in 'the machine' of everyday living.

take care,

Shawn

Sounds right Shawn. I think there are minimal distractions at night. Much time to reflect...though, sometimes too much reflection can be a bad thing! I think I am just a night owl at heart!

Glad I am not alone in the night! wink.gif

but sleep inevitably comes over us, and is but a small taste of that final sleep, death.

To sleep I bid myself.  To a realm where my consciousness, and myself, will cease to exist, at least temporarily.

I entrust you with this forum, Dara, until my return   wink.gif

good night all.  Stay awake too long, and I begin to lose it and get somewhat crazy.  So it's best I get some sleep.

to sleep,.....

to sleep,.....

perchance to dream,

my best,

Shawn

I have been a night lover since the day i was born I have always enjoyed being awake when everyone else is asleep. i have never understood whether it is a craving of solitude or the fact that in the dark everyone is equal.
A person cannot shoot or stab you when they cannot see you and vice versa. It is because of this i believe i feel more comfortable in the dark than in the               all-exposing light.
