Hello, i am trying to ge deeper into math as a requirement for a goal (learning physics).

a ) I am good/average at math, not great, not bad, so affinity is not a problem.

b ) i have bad memories asociated with math, when i was a little kid, my dad used to hit me in the head when he was trying to teach me, very hard strikes

I am trying to enjoy math but the bad memory associations get in the way, any advice to overcome this issue?
