1.The reaction catalyzed by RNA (or DNA) polymerases. The direction of the polymerization process (which end is elongated?). The significance of hydrolysis of PPi released as one of the reaction products. ??

2. The interactions that stabilize DNA double helix the role of hydrogen bonds and base-stacking interactions. The major structural parameters of DNA B-type helix (directions of strands, complementarity rules, number of base pairs (bp) per turn, grooves) ??

All pretty standard biochemistry questions. For most of this stuff, you need only look:

As for the pyrophosphate, you can almost always say that it makes the reaction energetically favorable and allows for better regulation of reaction steps regardless of where it pops up in biologic systems.
