Hello. I am working on answering complex queries on the neuroimages.

1- I am a computer engineer and a neuroinformatics PhD student. So, I do not have much information on annotation of the images. But unfortunately, I have to do the annotation by myself! I have some segmented images which I have to annotate. Can someone please tell me where do the segmentation and annotation sit? What is the relation between them? And what would be a good practice (workflow) to proceed with an image?

2- I am looking for a good annotation application which uses ontologies to mark the images. Till now, I found Open Ontology Forge and SMORE. Vannotea is also another application. Does any one has any other application in mind?
