Do the neuroscientists on here think mind uploading will be possible, as futurists like ray Kurzweil predict? If so, what are the benefits? Like why would we want to do that, if we have no bodies and just live in a computer?

Also, I've heard that there will be the chance people could hack your brain, and create virtual hells where
They can throw copies of you for millions of years. This seems awful, much worse than any sort of thing that could happen to a human. Is it true there would be a chance of that? Or is there a way you could be 100% sure your mind was isolated and safe from that sort of thing.

To me it seems like something that'd induce a matrix-like world. Interesting, yet quite terifying to think about.
