Hey guys. First post here. I was wondering if anyone could give me advice on my stack / supplements. I've been on this regimen for about 2 weeks now.
I'm 25, 5'11" 165lbs. I suffer from mild / moderate depression + mild / moderate social anxiety I exercise for 45 mins (cardio) every evening, about 450 calories in 30 mins. (started with new regimen) Prior to this regimen- mild-heavy alcohol use, at least 1 drink a day, 3 max. I tend to eat a lot of vegetables and not much meat. Lots of tofu and diet sodas too. Currently Morning Prozac 20 mg Wellbutrin XL 150 mg L-Tyrosine 500 mg Aniracetam 1,000 mg Fish oil 2,000 mg (600 mg omega 3) Vitamin E 250 mg (D-Alpha) Vitamin D3 0.025 mg Chewable Multivitamin B Complex (Thiamin 100 mg, Niacin 25 mg, B6 2 mg Folic Acid 400 mcg, B12 15 mcg, Biotin 30 mcg, Pantothenic Acid 5.5 mg) L- Arginine 500 mg Alpha GPC (L-alpha-glycerylphosphorylcholine 600 mg) SAMe (S-adenosylmethionine 400 mg) Protein Shake to take pills with almond milk. Night 5-HTP 100 mg NOW True Calm – (Niacinamide 45 mg, B6 8mg, Magnesium Amino Acid Chelate 13 mg, GABA 200 mg, Glycine 200 mg, Taurine 200 mg, Inositol 100 mg, Valerian root 25 mg) L-Tryptophan 500 mg Why I chose these supplements: I'm looking for something that will reduce my brain fog. Anxiety comes and goes, depression comes and goes but in longer bouts (feel great for 1-2 days and feel "meh" for 3-4 usually). Sometimes hard to fall asleep, so I usually have a drink to put me to sleep. Days 1-5 on regimen - Felt great. scratch that. FELT FANTASTIC. Super easy to concentrate, super motivated and positive outlook, not depressed or anxious at all. Super easy to do exercise (down to 1 light nightcap drink). Sleeping much eaiser- falling asleep within 5 mins of lying down, taking 'night' supplements 30 mins prior to getting in bed Days 6-10 on regimen - Felt ok, moodiness / slight depression returning but only lasting a few hours. Exercise getting slightly more 'tedious' (down to 1 light nightcap drink) Sleeping much eaiser- falling asleep within 5 mins of lying down, taking 'night' supplements 30 mins prior to getting in bed Days 10- now on regimen - Felt ok- slight brain fog returning, less positive mood, less motivated, still much better than before, but no where near as pronounced as the effects on day 1-5. Feeling more of the alertness and no-brain-fog in the afternoon as opposed to the whole day. Exercise becoming a bit more tedious. (down to 1 light nightcap drink) Sleeping much eaiser- falling asleep within 5 mins of lying down, taking 'night' supplements 30 mins prior to getting in bed Question 1): Is there anything that I am obviously missing / mis-doseing / should not be taking? Question 2): Should I take a break or switch up my racetam? or increase / decrease dose? Question 3) Thinking of adding CoEnzyme Q10, Bioperine, Acetyl L Carnitine, Acetyl L Carnitine Arginate, Lions Main Mushroom, Ginkgo Bilboa, Resveratrol, & Creatine (for the lethargy at the gym) Totally open to suggestions however. I would be eternally grateful for all and any info, especially from members who have similar conditions / are very well versed in biology / neurology / biochemistry! Thanks. -Leo |

You should take L-deprenyl also and you should take break or decrease the dosage. Depression and anxiety are the common problems.

You should take L-deprenyl also and you should take break or decrease the dosage. Depression and anxiety are the common problems. Take it easy about recommending L-deprenyl (selegiline). He is taking several serotoninergics and a serotonin reuptake inhibitor, plus Wellbutrin is already a dopamine reuptake inhibitor. Taking in to account serotonin and dopamine levels are somewhat linked it would be sensible to be very cautious when adding a dopaminergic to such stack. That being said I don't recommend selegiline to anyone. Can be a tricky nootropic with potentially dangerous side effects. And yes, I have tried it myself. To Uscleo: If I were you I would try to get rid of the chewable multi, the cheap Vit.E, L-arginine and 5-HTP and see if you still get good results (You probably will). Unless there is a medical condition get rid of the Prozac aswell. |

I would say dont take deprenyl, and it would just make you feel worse. I Predict if you take it, you will tell us it made you feel worse or hospitalized you.

Thanks for the input so far guys. Much appreciated.
I've done a lot more research and altered my stack as follows: Morning: 20 mg Prozac ( trying to taper this off due to allegedly toxic ingredients in generics? ) 150 mg Wellbutrin 500 mg L-Tyrosine 1g Fish oil (EPA and DHA) D3 Complex Super B complex 600 mg Alpha GPC Before Bed: NOW true calm 1 g L-Tryptophan 100 mg 5 HTP (will use up current supplies and might not renew) Misc: Aniracetam - 1 - 1.5g every day for 3 days, then 3 days break. Phenibut (Max once a week, 2g dose spaced over 3 hours) - used for partying / going out / relaxing. Effects last long and linger 2-3 days after ingestion. Got rid of: Sam-e L-Arginine Wanting to add: Good multivitamin - Any suggestions? Looking for a better vitamin E - Any suggestions? Resvertrol - antioxidant Vinpocetine - Periwinkle plant extract Ashwagandha - Indian ginseng Lion's Mane mushroom - antioxidant + nerve stimulation / growth ALCAR - Antioxidant Alpha Lipoic Acid - Antioxidant Ginko Bilboa - Doing research... thoughts? I appreciate the input guys... I'm also thinking about setting up a website "wiki" style to comprehensively log all these drugs / compounds so that we can have a source of reference. - thoughts? RE: selegiline - looks a little harsh / Don't want to add that to the stack due to it being controlled / people saying it may send me to hospital. lol. Thanks |
