my body still betrays me
aching
breaking
hooked to machines
pumped up with fluids
extending a life
while shriveling a soul.

watching each hour tick by
drip by intravenous drip
wondering
sometimes wishing
which one will be my last?

A person is conscious that they will die somehow unless Father's Kingdom come to rescue all the ailing soon.

You certainly do well to depict the horrors of dialysis. Yet there is eternity in our heart and a desire to keep on living in conflict with a degraded way of life. How sad.
