I start a new job 6/4/12. I have been experimenting with Deprenyl for about a week and was worried after hearing you can get a positive hit for Methamphetamines.

I'm guessing i need to stop the Deprenyl and try to flush my System. Is there a best way to do this?

Are there any other Nootropics or Supplements that will give a false positive?

Thanks for the input

I looked at this issue time ago, lets see if I can recapitulate some info:

-Selegiline is metabolized into l-methamphetamine.

QUOTE
L-amphetamine and L-methamphetamine

Selegiline is partly metabolized to l-methamphetamine, one of the two enantiomers of methamphetamine in vivo.[25] A characteristic metabolic pattern was noted, exemplified by a ratio of l-methamphetamine to l-amphetamine of about 2.8.[26] These stereoisomers are considered significantly less psychoactive and have little abuse potential in contrast to their D-isomers.[27] The stimulatory effect on locomotor activity and dopamine synthesis may be contributed to by the action of l-methamphetamine, a once thought to be inactive metabolite.[25] This locomotor effect at therapeutic doses was not apparent in comparison to placebo, but both l-amphetamine and l-methamphetamine had positive effects on genetic expression for memory enhancement in rats and other animals.[28]

This metabolic action may cause persons taking selegiline to test positive for amphetamine and or methamphetamine on drug screening tests.

-Some drug test meassure up only for D-methamphetamine (the one found in ilegal drugs) while others will react in presence of both.

-The half life of l-methamphetamine depends upon the dose, fluid intake, excretion, and urinary pH.

After reading that I would not be confident on passing a drug test with less than 4-5 days after last exposure. Make it a week just in case, It would be a drama to give a positive on something important just for taking a supplement. It can be something really hard to explain without a prescription I imagine.
Rasagiline does not give any false positives but is dearer.

Selegiline is the best medicine to improve memory and improve brain functions. It helps to increase dopamine levels in brain.

The MAOI Inhibition of deprenyl is far, far longer than the time it causes false stimulant positives. The molecule bonds covalently to MAO-B, and the rest of it left over metabolize and is eliminated within a few days. the effect of it is far longer than it being detectable.

In otherwords you can still be pretty MAO-B inhibited with its "leftovers" long since metabolized and eliminated to not cause false positives. A week to be safe
