Supposedly its a deep sea fish found around ireland and used by the celts for emotional and physical stress by increasing the body's enorphins...

Is anyone here familiar with/ tried garum amoricum? either in stabilium or another extracted source?? or even in its natural form???

Hi,

I actually was just doing research on Garum for another project (I'm a chef), and saw this post randomly. Garum is very similar to Thai fish sauce, the former likely being fermented longer. I read that they are high in neuropeptides and free amino acids (which incidentally makes it heavy in 'umami' taste). Here's a link to a recipe for authentic ancient Roman Garum. (its a long and stinky process, but its likely worth it)

If you search "Garum" on amazon, you can find it's modern equivalent as a rather expensive condiment.

Hope that helps
