Fiction would be "Dune" by Frank Herbert, simply because it's an epic novel with layers and layers of conspiracy, treachery, and plotting within plans...

Non-Fiction:

God and the New Physics by Paul Davies

Mexico Mystique by Frank Waters

There are many, many others but I'm blanking right now... book nerd. :-)

Is that your bible canon? My favorite book is the real Bible revealing the compiling of God's Word of the Holy Scriptures.
