Hi All!
I am brand new here and new to cognitive enhancers. Is there a definitive reading that anyone can recommend just so I can get a basic understanding of the receptors, inhibitors, etc. Thank you kindly and I look forward to reading as many posts on this fascinating forum as I can... |

Unfortunately, there are no definitive readings, and never will be. Each individual responds differently, and thus science (dealing with averages) is not representative of the individual. I am however working on a guide to nootropics, but will not be done for several months. Note this is a guide, not anything definitive.

Hi. I've been reading the forum for over 5 hours now. I'm 45, mom, student , and everything else that goes along w it. The 2 products I've been reading about that seem to offer the most enhancing (brain power) is piracetam (a synthetic?) and Tianeptine ( a ssre). Yes I know these 2 are apples and oranges bit aren't the long term affects od synthetics worse for your body? I feel like I can't focus or think anymore... It's like what is happening to me? I need to be clear, focused and on target. Any thoughts? Also, should I discontinue caffeine before starting say piracetam? Thanks

What do you mean by synthetic? Tianeptine is every bit as synthetic as piracetam, but far more potentially harmful.

Most products claiming to be nootropic are not. The definition of a nootropic has become rather adulterated. Piracetam is a nice safe bet. The effects are not very noticeable however, and that is the point! By definition, you should not be able to notice the effects of a true nootropic.
