There was an old man who lived in a boot.
He had a pet owl that didn't give a hoot. Once the man told the bird, "Your out of your tree!". The reply? "Stay talking to yourself and leave me be." So one flew over the coo coo's nest. The haven of the town, source for jest. Now the man resides in a colorful sneaker. With a wise old owl that serves as his speaker. You can hear the two arguing long into the night. But that silly old fowl would not take to flight. The two of them missed the comfort from living long years with the boot. But the wise old owl encouraged the man saying, "Just put the shoe on the other foot! Hoot! Hoot!". Now the man walks modestly with a whole new gait. And since he can run he is rarely late. The boot filled a need but he's not looking back. The new sneaker does fine without a wise crack! He visits an old lady who lived in a shoe. She has a pet parrot and the owl listens too! The four of them make a good party for bridge. But the noise of the little children drives one over the edge. So one flew over the coo coo's nest and then there were three. But its all water under the bridge now as the children run free. The parrot and owl just wouldn't behave. So the man ran off to live alone in a cave. Now he plays solitaire and talks to himself in a dim light. And when he loses an argument he go fly a kite. The owl still sees him from time to time. And refuses to speak without acting a mime or saying a rhyme. Isn't that crazy or is it just me? To talk to an owl that lives in a tree. Ask for advice on how you should live. And listen to all the good lessons the wise bird will give. Hoot. Hoot... ... there once was an old man who lived in a boot... PJS Edited: August 7/2011 |

This gave me a smile; I enjoyed reading it. Thank you. I am honored that you took the time to ponder a little scribble of mine. Thank-you! But now that I have changed it you may have a different opinion perhaps? I like the smile in your picture. it looks balanced and friendly to me. I will give you the benefit of the doubt. I hope that you can make the progress you want to with your life. Peter. |
