Transcendental Sonnet #1454:
When a Smile Has a Long Way to Go

I smile at all the dogs I see
And they smile back at me
The people too I smile at you
When I see you if I do

Which leads me to say I miss you today
When a smile has a long way to go
But you smile back I know
I do when I think of you anyway

I always wanted a dog of my own
I wanted so many things
Someone to love me but I am alone
Only the lonely me

To smile at all the dogs I see
And see what tomorrow brings
