I know that Dara has some sweet, loving relationships with animal companions, and that Steve's feline roommate is Freddy Noodles.  What about the rest of you?

My husband and I live with Callie, an adorable mutt we adopted about 6-1/2 years ago.

I fix a meal for Callie every morning and evening.  Here's our routine:  Callie checks out her food; Callie walks out to wherever I am and stands there, wagging her tail and making these snorty, sniffy noises with her nose, until I acknowledge her; I say "You're welcomed"; Callie heads back into the kitchen to eat!

Without fail, I get this love and affirmation 2X per day!  No matter what else is going on, or how difficult or bad my day may be, I know that I'll get to smile and feel great at least twice.

I have a cat name Tiggerhe's still a baby and loves t get into everything and play! :smile.gif he is almost a year and my mom has a cat named Sir Issac!  ;D He is a royal cat who gets to sleep on a 600 dollar bed all day!!! He is big fat and irrogant sometimes LOL I absolutely adore him He is a minx black long hair with a short stubby tail! The also have a poodle named Spunky that my dad loves to sqirt vinegar in his face when he get carried away with barking and my sister says he smells like a salad! ;D My grandma also has the friendliest cat named Harley imported all the way from Virgina! He was a stray my Aunt found and gave to my grandma for a good home! Animals are the greatest! we can get attached just like we do to family members and they become a part of the family! and at times the best relationship we can have is with an animal! It is even noted that cats help eliviate symptoms of depression!

Love always,

AAAAAAAAah, I just LOVE a reason to talk about my animlas!

Let me start with my absolutely adorable cat Bart! She is pictured just to your left! Isn't she sweet? She is 15 and going STRONG!
Next is Ritz, my all black long furred, jealous boy who is almost 4! He was a kitten from strays next door to my inlaws home, we rescued him
Then Tracey my rescue form the shelter cat whose 3.
And my baby Meirir-D who is 1 1/2...we saved her when she was 4 weeks old, from a taped box in a parking lot on a HOT day...had to bottle feed her, and BOY was she a mess! She infested the WHOLE house with ringworm fungus, and she had fleas, but luckily they died FAST! WHEW...

As for my doggies, there is Star, my 3 year old male Greyhound. He was from Florida and we rescued him in December. The very first home Star ever lived in was MINE! I am the first person to love him and treat him like a KING! And he is my sweet boy.
Then a few weeks later we got Goldie, the brat! She is 4 and an ex racer from Connecticut! She is SUCH a brat too, she thinks she rules the house, and well, she DOES!

OK, I have bored you enough, but these are my lovely animlas and they make my life worthwhile!

Love, Dara wink.gif

Dara,

I could never be "bored" with your animal stories.  In fact, I can't get enough of them, and I'd love to hear more about Dara's Menagerie.

Thanks Lori! That makes me feel good to know SOMEONE is interested in my clan! I also had many strays in and out of my home, a few cats and recently I was fostering a VERY ill greyhound, named Shadow. He was about 30 lbs underweight when I got him. Unfortunately he only spent 2 weeks with me as my Star didnt get along with him and attacked him one night over a bone! But the good news is that he gained 10 lbs with me, and is now a healthy weight, almost 80 lbs! He has been adopted by a wonderful lady who has one other greyhound and they absolutely love him. That makes my heart feel good, like I helped save his life. He was a few lbs away from death, he was SOOOO malnourished, so needy! But all the hard work paid off! I spent much time loving him, feeding him every 3 hours small meals for his stomach to adjust. He used to spit up water all over the house, and had a few accidents of diarreah in my livingroom, but I wouldnt trade my time with him for the world! He smiled and chattered his teeth when happy, just a real lover! And now he is in a good home, thank god!

I also volunteer 4 hours most weekends at different pet stores, along with other dedicated greyhound people. We bring our dogs, and educate the public about these deserving animals. We try to get people interested in adopting, as there are so many greyhounds that need a home. Too many of them get killed once they are done racing, which is between the ages of 2-5. It really makes me happy to help out in any way I can for the dogs!

Well, that is some more about my love for animasl!
Love, Dara wink.gif
