Can science help us answer any of our moral conundrums? Is survival the primary scientific moral imperative?

It solves old ones, creates new ones. I didn't think science had anything directly to do with morals or survival though. We separately strive for survival, science is an extension of explaining our world to apply things that help, which could be an extension for survival...
either way I thought that science was purely for its sake and for the sake of application; any other aspects have deeper roots |
