well, as you know ;-), I think the mind-body link is purely semiotic and I also think this statement is not simply a "philosophical" one ~ http://hsymbolicus.wordpress.com/category/semiotics/ ~ I think my "theory" can actually be proved in various ways, one of which is by studying pathological cases and their neural correlates in a semiological way ~ I find truly and amazingly telling how pathologies of cx show their semiological essence. Some patients suffering from aphasic conditions lose their ability to say precise words. They mistake them instead for more general terms. Some other after severe lesions can only say "yes" and "and" (not as a pun intended but there is in fact quite a bit of "yes" and "and" in every word we use). Some of the people suffering from Tourette Syndrome, for some interesting reason, would -mostly- curse and say "bad" words (coprolalia) ~ I have read (and crunched/thought about) about Philo of Mind and neuro stuff quite a bit, yet most studies are not devised with those principles in mind ~ Do you know of scientists culturing such ideas? ~ Thank you lbrtchx |
