CB, you say that I am Cheeky. Do you mean 'saucy and impudent'? What's "cheeky" about giving credit where credit is due? Nothing. You imply an association of your beliefs and opinions to people like Whitehead, Tolle and most recently Spinoza. I think as your beliefs and references change, and as you are pointing them towards a more recognizable point of reference that you are fishing for recognition as the cheer leader for Lindsay. Nothing wrong with that either. An ego needs recognition to self validate ones self. LOL! I couldn't have said it better! |

"LOL! I couldn't have said it better! " CB
So now, CB, you have hired a mouthpiece, eh? Expensive? May I point out that it was HH who mentioned the ideas of Spinoza and that I make no claim that I understand, fully, Spinoza's point of view. BTW, it would be interesting to hear what he would have to say, if he were alive, today, and became aware of the ideas of Seth Lloyd on "programming the universe". |

"That's right, blame me! tongue.gif" HH Blame? No blame was intended by me. I try to avoid the blame-shame game. It is not one I enjoy, at all. BTW, the only button that works for me, now, is the FAST REPLY. Just once in awhile the whole system works. It is not just my 'puter; I had the same thing happen when, recently, I used my son's 'puter. ====================== If you are able to edit the title of this topic, I would like the sub-title changed from: After all, it IS the message of Christmas to: G0D is within us; and we are within GOD BTW, Immanuel, or Emanuel, is the Hebrew for God with us. It is used in Isaiah 7:14 as the name for the Jewish Messiah. Interestingly, this name was not used in the New Testament. Yeshuah, Joshua, Jesus, literally means, "The I am"--consciousness of self--is what brings us salvation--total health. |

The following is a good summary of my theological thinking so far:
http://forums.about.com/n/pfx/forum.aspx?n...heism&tid=43579 In a dialogue with atheists, here is what I wrote to one genial, thinking and curious atheist : ================================================== Danylus, in my opinion, the first post of yours sounds more like what I call unitheism, than atheism. As a unitheist I say: There is no supernatural and human-like being called God. But there is--whatever it is--that which contains what we call the cosmos, or the universe. To give this unit a name--without insisting anyone has to follow suit--I use an acronym, not a noun. I call this total Unit of Being, GOD (beyond me), G0d (within me), or G.O.D.--all that is good, orderly and desirable. Orthodox Jews write G-d. The dash in their way of avoiding making an idol, mentally. I respect the right of others to write it 'God' and, if I am quoting them, I will use it. PROCESS PHILOSOPHY AND THEOLOGY There is a site--not very active, currently: http://www.ctr4process.org/relationality/v...c.php?f=3&t=261 =================================== Charles Hartshorne used the term panentheism--not to be confused with pantheism. He spent much of his life interpreting what is now called process philosophy and theology based on the work of the great mathematician, Alfred North Whitehead. Hartshorne: http://images.google.ca/images?q=charles+h...ved=0CDEQsAQwAw The son of an Anglican minister, the short bio, as follows, is very interesting: http://plato.stanford.edu/entries/hartshorne/ Before he met Whitehead he had similar ideas to him. I could say something similar: Before I had read any of their ideas I had a non-theistic concept. The idea of there being supernatural gods, or a God, up or out there, had no meaning for me. But I could not deny the mystery of Being--spirituality. Whitehead's story is also interesting: http://plato.stanford.edu/entries/whitehead/ http://plato.stanford.edu/entries/process-philosophy/ |

Would you pleeeese talk about something else, for a change?!!!! You sound like you are talking to yourself already!!! I've been here 4 years and it's the same shit over and over and over and over and over again!!! You're begining to look like a spammer! I would happily ignore your posts, but I'm a moderator here, and you're getting on my bad side, already. I would imagine that, as smart as you seem to be, you would have notice that your message falls on deaf ears around here! I'm not saying to you to stop posting. Just try to spice it up a little bit, man! |
