I am currently in the process of writing a book on how the brain works it connection to the paranormal and I would like to ask professionals, someone who knows more about the brain than me about the brain and it's conciousness and about the electricity in the brain and how it connects to actual electricity, my main questions are below -

How does the brain work in relation to growth?
Is it controlled by the brain, subconciously.. or am I completely wrong?

Can we control the subconscious as well as the concious?
If so, will it take to an amount of training to do so, and can we control growth of bones, muscles, hair etc..

How much electricity must be pumped through a body to shut down a brain?
I don't plan on killing someone, but it links to the paranomal side of things

How much electricity must be pumped through a body to bring a brain to control limbs?
Is it even possible to begin with.. if so how much does need to be put into the body

In your own opinion, do you think its possible to control every part of your body and things outside of your body?

Thanks for reading smile.gif
Matt.

Lucid Dream is really the one you want to ask.

I would say that controlling things outside your body doesn't make any real sense. The first question raised is how?

QUOTE

To a degree. There is biofeedback that allows a certain amount of conscious control over unconscious processes. However, it is not absolute as some things are hard-wired unconscious processes. Which means you wont be able to directly control them with your conscious mind.

QUOTE

This isnt entirely accurate. The body doesnt work based soley off of electricity. It is a BioChemical machine. It works based off of communication through chemical and electrical properties. Its not like a wire running through a circuit.

The human body has a wide variety of chemicals it uses in intercommunication with cells. The neurons in the body have both electrical and chemical properties used for communication.

The actual amount of electricity needed to control a limb is very small. Its not electricity which causes a limb to move. The only thing which is required for a limb to be moved is for the neurons in the limb to be activated.

The real work is done by the muscles in that limb.

QUOTE
do you think its possible to control every part of your body and things outside of your body?

Depends on what you mean.

First, can you control every part of your body? Probably not without modification of your body.

The problem with this is that there is not a neuron for every cell in your body. Your brain works by communicating to neurons and causing those neurons to send signals to cells to do whatever they are needed to do.

However, sometimes there are neurons for every x cells. So say 1 neuron controls 100 cells. Now if you want to only cause the 89th cell to do something, you cant under this current framework.

There is a certain amount of exception to this rule. The thing is that cells can be individually communicated with by chemical signals sent between cells.

However this is not a deeply understood area and there is still a question of how you would control those signals being sent to individual cells.

So the answer to your question also depends on the degree of control you have. Do you want control over every cell or control over all the functions of your subconscious mind?

To the second part of your question, things outside your body. Once again, depends. What do you want to control? Are you talking about psychic powers? Then my answer would be no.

If you want to say control a hand or a vechical using your mind, that is possible. With neural implants and wireless technology it is technically possible to control "things" just perhaps not all things and not most non-technological things until we have a far more advanced nanoscience community.

When I say move objects, I mean telekensis, people have reported having the ability to move or alter an object (Uri Gellar, 'Spoon Bending').

Thank you for your opinion on it, also the rest of your post will come in very helpful and I thank you for the help, I now know a little bit about how the body works. If you feel you can add any more onto this or know someone who can don't hesitate to add, I plan on checking back daily.

Thanks once again,
Matt.

Uri Geller is actually a magician who poses as a psychic. He has been proven to be a fraud, I actually know how to do the spoon bending trick and used to do it almost daily, identical to how it is done by Uri Gellar.

Its actually extraordinarily simple but I am bond by the magicians code to not reveal tricks. There is nothing psychic about Uri Gellar.

Telekensis, once again, how? Often you get explanations of astral fields and magnetic fields, etc. However, there is no hard evidence, no proof. We can measure magnetic fields in people and we can calculate the strength of a magnetic field required to move a small object. I assure you, the required magnetic strength to do such things is far, far higher than what the human body generates.

James Randi offers $1,000,000 to anyone who can prove they have psychic powers. No one has ever claimed the prize.

You rich guys and your excessive use of spoons. Hope at least you're recycling those bent ones! wink.gif

Lol if it makes you feel any better I used to use the same one over and over again. Its not a trick spoon though. Only thing is if you do the trick that breaks them, then you have to get new ones. Walmart was my primary supplier of spoons, I think it was 4 spoons for $2 or something like that.

Used to have this little voodoo doll that would levitate up in my hand, you should of seen how wide their eyes would go lol.

Your writing a book on 'how the brain works', yet you have no idea 'how the brain works'! lol.

Neither do i, which is why i aint writing a book!

Should be a great read. he he.....

:-s

My 'take ' on the un-concious. Its like a spong of our past experiences (previous lifes aswell). Everyday it changes slightly as new experiences are added to it. It communicates back and forth with the concious and can effect our thoughts and (from that ) our experiences now. Thats why when people have bad luck, they seem to have more and more. Its important to get good experiences under our belts to have more. ( Catch 22 situation).

Wait a secound........ (just reading my 'words for sarcastic gits on websites' book).

The defintion of spong is " person who nit-picks at spellings on websites, and lacks a sense of humour".

Hope that clears it up,

Past lives? There's only enough data storage space in a brain for one life. That's why folks over 90 have trouble forming new memories. I would say "over 70", but I'm closing in on that age quickly and hoping for the best.
