Hello,
I have just being prescribed Inderal 120 mg slow release for SAD (Social Anxiety Disorder). I have taken it before on occasion and it worked wonders! I was also prescribed a small amount of Paxil to be taking daily as well. I have been reading that it causes rapid weight gain in many people. I already struggle keeping my weight down, exercise 5 days a week and eat well. I realize it's a BETA blocker, so it must block NE and Dopamine, right? If so, is that what is responsible for the weight gain, at least in part? If I take phenylalane or Tyrosine will it help control any potential weight gain, and/or would it be simply blocked by the Inderal. I was so excited to start taking this till I read the reports. I will take it even if I have to starve myself because my SAD is so severe and interferes with life for me....thank you for your expertise!! |
