I am investigating the role of theta and though I know the basics, I am trying to look deeper than previous studies. The problem with this is that hippocampal theta activity cannot be 'seen' using EEG equipment- only cerebral cortex activity can. It is said that cerebral theta activity may not be indicative of hippocampal theta activity. As such, is there a way of determining this, and is it possible to investigate theta activity more thoroughly using EEG?
