I'm experimenting around with sponsorship of BrainMeta forum, in this case, from CerebralHealth (whose banner is visible in the top right of the page), hopefully in a way that does not negatively impact the BrainMeta experience. However, if it does, or if you have other thoughts over the matter, please let me know about it by posting here or PMing me. Thanks.

lucid_dream,
Are you Shawn? I was under the impression that Shawn had a different username. The sponsorship has been something that I have been in contact with Shawn about. While there are perhaps a couple aesthetic changes I hope we can make to the banner, we are delighted to be sponsoring BrainMeta and the active community here. |

hi GC, yes, I'm LD, so that I could leave my personal info out of BrainMeta administration and postings.
Now, for everyone, let me explain my position on ads in a nutshell. I find pop-up ads very annoying and can say with certainty that they will never appear on BrainMeta. I often find website ads obtrusive and in firefox, have adblock setup and even filter google ads. I understand the desire to have ads tastefully placed on a website, so that they do not detract from other content on the site, but rather, contribute to the site. I also believe that ads for questionable products should not be displayed. With that said, I believe that our new sponsor, CerebralHealth, is a very fitting sponsor for our forum, and that the ads do not detract from the forum content, but rather contribute to it. To my knowledge, there are two main products offered by CerebralHealth: 1) Memeron: a combination of galantamine and l-alpha glycerylphosphorylcholine that is used for memory impairment and various neurodegenerative conditions including Alzheimer's Disease. 2) Synaptine: a blend of piracetam and choline bitartrate for cognitive enhancement. Again, I welcome any feedback on this, and welcome CerebralHealth as our first sponsor. |

It is an honor to sponsor the BrainMeta forums and I hope CerebralHealth and myself can contribute to the experience in a positive fashion.

That was just a joke btw. I was just testing my ability to post, as I seem to have been intermittently blocked for few days. In fact, almost since the sponsorship happened. Strange ... And what do I think about it ... daren't say!£%$

HH, I don't know anything about you being blocked. Are you sure that you were blocked from just BM or could it have been an internet connectivity problem?
Trip, sure, i'll sponsor your profile ;-) |

a bit facetious aren't we? Hahahahaha!!! I guess. This is very new to me. BM has been good to me the last few years, and I've liked it just fine so far. We'll see how this new sponsorship program works. Putting a comercial face anywhere in the forum is not something I favor. We'll see how it goes. GC, you gotta change brand avatar, though. For a long time I thought that brain scan axial was a thanks-giving turkey! |

Well its just an Ad at the top of the page, I dont use nootropics so I doubt it'll effect me either way. Is there not some juicy chat about GC and LifeMirage fighting it out in the changing rooms or something?

Is there not some juicy chat about GC and LifeMirage fighting it out in the changing rooms or something? I think it's more a clash of egos. LM took over the health supplement section a little too hastily and a little too early for GC's taste. They're slugging it out right now as we speak. |

axial brain scan? you mean mid-sagittal. Axial is orthogonal to sagittal. Now that you mention it, yes, it resembles a turkey, but that's really what a mid-sagittal scan of the human brain looks like.
I'm not aware of any slugfest between GC and LM. There might be a small conflict of interest, but seriously, I think we can get beyond that. |

And the picture denotes one of the axial projections. you're talking about the brain in this pic or a different one? The one in this pic is a mid-sagittal MRI scan. ![]() |

Same one Lucid. I just wanted to pointed out that the whole scan itself is also known as axial scan by nature of the technology itself. And each individual cross-sectional planar image is also known as an axial projection, regardless of which the organ of interest may be.

Ok, I understand what you're saying now, but should point out that MRI technology is not limited to axial acquisition planes, but that they can also be acquired sagittally (or any oblique plane for that matter), which is not uncommon, for example, when using an MPRAGE sequence. You might be thinking of CAT (Computerized Axial Tomography), but the image above is not CAT. |
