Im not completely sure if I am posting on the right forum, but for starters I was a christian for a period of time and became confused on how the Bible should be interpreted this lead me to believe that I may be wrong. I then went onto this website and learnt of the Indian folk-tale of the elephant and the three blind men. The point of that story was that there are many interpretations (religions) but they are all of the same thing and only through understanding this can one totally understand God. After reading this I felt that I understood. I started looking into Hindu philosophy and the concept of reincarnation which I now feel is right. However, I am still confused as to where I should begin, I have contemplated reading the Bhagavad Gita and other Hindu literature so as to understand because as far as I know (or think I know) already, in Hinduism, no belief should be considered wrong as they all stem from Brahman who is within everything. This is why I have considered Hinduism.
Is it possible that I can understand God through Hinduism, or should I look to other scripture and consider Hinduism as part of it all? Basically, I am searching for total understanding of God, and I don't know where to begin. I would like it if your answers would not dictate what I should do as I would like to understand myself but I feel I need a 'sign-post at the crossroads' as it were to point down the right direction without forcing me along the way. Thanks |

Consciousness, or at least brain activity, is definately a kind of electric field, generated from chemical tension. I don't claim to be a biologist, but I'm guessing the field comes from differences of materials, and those differences are the polarisation I'm talking about. At a biological level its just not as apparent as with a magnet or mathematics, but its well documented.
Water is the most important substance for life, and its because of its unique properties that chemical reactions can take place. Its called the Universal Solvent because almost everything can be dissolved in it (exception of oil). Its this that makes it perfect for washing things, and for natural chemical processes to occur. Its the reason most school experiments are done in a beaker of water. Its a facilitator, and one of the reasons is that its a dipole material (attracted equally to positive and negative charges). This can be tested with a magnet and a slow stream of water from a tap. QUOTE(Dipole) In physics, there are two kinds of dipoles (Hellènic: di(s)- = two- and pòla = pivot, hinge): An electric dipole is a separation of positive and negative charge. The simplest example of this is a pair of electric charges of equal magnitude but opposite sign, separated by some, usually small, distance. A permanent electric dipole is called an electret. A magnetic dipole is a closed circulation of electric current. A simple example of this is a single loop of wire with some constant current flowing through it.[1][2] Dipoles can be characterized by their dipole moment, a vector quantity. For the simple electric dipole given above, the electric dipole moment would point from the negative charge towards the positive charge, and have a magnitude equal to the strength of each charge times the separation between the charges. For the current loop, the magnetic dipole moment would point through the loop (according to the right hand grip rule), with a magnitude equal to the current in the loop times the area of the loop. In addition to current loops, the electron, among other fundamental particles, is said to have a magnetic dipole moment. This is because it generates a magnetic field which is identical to that generated by a very small current loop. However, to the best of our knowledge, the electron's magnetic moment is not due to a current loop, but is instead an intrinsic property of the electron. It is also possible that the electron has an electric dipole moment, although this has not yet been observed (see electron electric dipole moment for more information). In physics we label things with a positive, negative or neutral charge. Our calculations work on this simplified mathematical model. I don't know enough to blab on and on about physics, only that this polarisation has been occurring within the subatomic levels of all materials. I feel its quite profound and overlooked. The animal kingdom is split into male/female pairs. Why isn't this very important spiritually? I've no idea, but I'd love to see this fact taken on board and explained by a current religon. Religion is too static, and fails to address a lot of the basic philosophical questions. This is the reason I feel Pantheism is closer to the truth than monotheism, every God has his Goddess, at every level. |
